Recipe to Make an Easy Sponge Cake 

Here it is - recipe to make really easy and simple sponge cake. Baking a sponge cake could not be easier with this easy sponge cake recipe! Enjoy!

Ingredients for an Easy Sponge Cake:

  • 2/3 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup castor sugar or superfine sugar
  • 3 eggs

Directions:

1. Grease an 8 or 9 inch (20-23 cm) round cake pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whip together the eggs and castor sugar until fluffy. Fold in flour. Pour into the prepared pan.

Bake for about 20 minutes in the preheated oven 375 °F (190 °C), or until the top of the cake springs back when lightly pressed. Cool in the pan over a wire rack.

If you like you can add some vanilla to make this easy sponge cake even more tasteful.
